Last month softgarden teamed up with Heilbronn University in Southern Germany to find out what people really think about online recruiting.
The questionnaire, which was completed by just under 1200 participants, was given to online job applicants as well as the students at the university of Heilbronn.
The results were mixed bag, when asked about their thoughts on the online application process here’s what some participants had to say:
“Often the application portal are so un user-friendly and slow that they do nothing for the candidate, these programs only help HR”
“Easy, fast, no cost, uncomplicated”
“Companies need to test their systems for ease of use and functionality before asking people to apply through them”
However, despite some misgivings it appeared that candidates still strongly prefer to apply online over other methods of application.
For example, when asked to rate their favorite method on a scale of 1-5 (5 being strongest) Email and Online Application Forms came out on top, followed closely by also uploading a professional profile from, for example, LinkedIn or XING.
At softgarden we make the online application process a joy for both candidates and recruiters, if you’ve not tried it yet give it a go.
In the meanwhile, see our Infographic for a closer look at what candidates really think about online recruiting:
